This client wanted their front walkway and entry to have more character while being as low maintenance. Their goal was to be fully hands off in their yard while still having curb appeal. The hidden message in this request is always densely planted drought-tolerant native plants. While more plants seem to scream more maintenance, it is actually the opposite. When the bed is almost completely occupied by native plants with deep root systems and simultaneously shade out the ground, it becomes very difficult for weeds to germinate. And if they do, they are very easy to spot!

This design offers a year-round seasonal color and texture that will look lush from the curb. These native plants were selected to fit their drought-prone south facing condition. This garden will also bring in many beneficial insects, pollinators, and butterflies!
